Those who look, on those now long gone, as morally suspect, would probably be looked upon by those long gone, as that, morally suspect, at the minimum. Life and standards change, even our galaxy, the Milky Way, is in its third reincarnation, why hold on to disapproving how someone lived, then or now, as opposed to the beauty they brought forth, that still lives?

I love this place and the works you select and the analyses you write. I love your whole "manifesto." Perhaps most of all I love and appreciate this: "Good poems, or even just interesting poems, are not dependent for their goodness, or even just their interestingness, on anything other than their poetic content." I find it so so wearying to be ever regaled with how awful this writer is or how wonderful that writer is -- personally or politically -- instead of just looking at what the work itself says. Thank you!

I'm going to advertise you on Facebook (again) later today. Not that that would even at very best get you more than a few readers, but worth a shot.

How beautiful -- "delight the ear, instruct the mind, inspire the soul." And, one might add, challenge the understanding. Anyway -- thank you! I don't read you every day but whenever I do I find it satisfying.
